Kapiti Bike Repair offers a pickup and drop-off service for all your bicycle repair needs across the Kapiti region. I also sell new bikes and parts as well as retro parts on my DECOBIKES Trademe shop.

About me

I have been a professional Cycle Mechanic for over 30 years, mostly in the Wellington region but with stints on the tools in the USA and Ireland. Having worked in large shops for the first 20 years, I have been a sole operator for the last 10 years. My previous shop DECOBIKES, was based in Vivian St Wellington for 3 years before moving to Main St Otaki for the last 7 years.
Services - Services outside of greater Otaki incur a $10 transport fee.
STANDARD SERVICE $90
Standard service includes: Clean and lubricate drivetrain and cables. Clean and prepare brake pads and braking surfaces. Adjust braking system. Adjust Headset,crank and wheel bearings. Check tire pressure and tire wear. Adjust shifting systems. Parts will be replaced as needed(with prior agreement)and may incur additional labour charge.
PREMIUM SERVICE $150
Premium service includes all of the standard service items but adds: Strip down and clean of all bearings in headset,hubs and bottom bracket(crank). Full clean and polish of the bicycle.
SMALL REPAIRS OTAKI ONLY. For local bike users i also offer smaller repairs without the minimum $90 Service charge. This would include: Puncture repair $30 minimum. Gear adjustment $40 minimum. Brake adjustment $40 minimum.
CUSTOM BUILD SERVICE
I offer frame up builds of customer provided custom bikes or can supply custom builds from Surly Bikes,Cannondale or SOMA. This service is charged hourly @$90 per hour.
